Horseneck Wine & Spirits

Providing world class wines and spirits since Prohibition was repealed

Horseneck Wine and Spirits was founded in 1934, one year after Prohibition was repealed. It has been family owned and operated the entire time. Now, Horseneck is recognized one of the best places in the country to find the great wines of the world. We have worked directly with importers, brokers, wineries, and craft distillers for decades and taste everything before it goes up on the shelf. We pride ourselves on the relationships we have with our customers and the level of service that we provide. Whether you are looking for a hard-to-find bottle of Grand Cru Burgundy, an inexpensive bottle for a Tuesday night, or are planning a large event, we deeply enjoy the opportunity to help.

burgundy

Horseneck continues a long tradition of sourcing the very best wines from the Cote d’Or and other interesting appellations throughout Burgundy. Mugnier, Roumier, Ramonet, Romanée Conti, are all familiar names here. We also work night and day looking for the up-and-coming producers that you will love. Burgundy can be daunting but it doesn’t have to be. Let us help demystify.

Piedmont

Nebbiolo is the lifelong friend you haven’t met yet. Combining the grace and elegance of Pinot Noir with the power and energy of a beautiful Cabernet, Piedmont is the axis mundi for Nebbiolo. Situated in Northern Italy Piedmont offers the complexity of terroir we love in Burgundy and we find a range of expressions of Nebbiolo. From Barolo to Barbaresco and to the satellite communes like Carema and Gattinara, Piedmont offers one of the greatest chances to be knocked off your seat the first time you taste it.

Bordeaux

No wine region in the world is as consistent and impressive as Bordeaux. The very best houses have, over decades, developed a house style that expresses their unique terroir and wine making methods. If you love a balance of ripe fruits with savory earthy character then houses like Latour, Lafite, Talbot, Cheval Blanc, and La Conseillante are for you.

SPIRITS

Looking for a great whiskey? Curious about the difference between Bourbon, Rye, and Scotch? Discovering the world of Tequila and Mezcal? Or simply looking for a great house gin? We have you covered. Just like our wine program, our Spirits program focuses on the great brands as well as u and coming craft distillers. At every price point.

NAPA & SONOMA

Taking their lead from the great terroir of Burgundy and Bordeaux, Napa and Sonoma offer some of the most exciting things happening in the wine world today. Napa - a collection of warm valley floor vineyards and cooler high altitude slopes - and Sonoma, with its exposure to the sea and its rolling mountains, provide a slightly more rustic example of the best that California has to offer.

Champagne and sparkling wine

Finding your favorite Champagne is like finding your favorite restaurant in Paris. It’s easy to fall in love with the ones everyone knows because they truly are great. However, a little bit of digging to find that little hole in the wall is worth the effort. At Horseneck we have the greats - Veuve Cliquot, Taittinger, Dom Perignon - but we pride ourselves in sourcing wines from the great small growers in Champagne - Jacquesson, Pouillon, Laval, and Pierre Peters to name a few. Throw in a selection of our favorite Cremant, Cava, and “Pet Nat” and we stand by our promise to help you find the perfect bottle of bubbly.
